On Female Entrepreneurship in Gdańsk
We had a pleasure to share our research on the link between labor market inequality and female entrepreneurship on 9th ENTrepreneurship In Modern Economy Conference organized by Gdańsk University of Technology.
We presented a theoretical model of the choice of self-employment among women and share updated empirical test on whether gender wage and employment inequality can be treated as a push factor for female entrepreneurship. Using rich dataset including large group of countries over the years we showed that increase of the employment gap rise propensity of women to become self-employment out of necessity, while wage gap do not affect it.
We are grateful to organizers for interesting comments and discussion.
