Mini course at Tor Vergata University of Rome
Piotr concluded an insightful mini course inspired by the pressing issue of economic inequality, focusing on the theoretical foundations of the equity-efficiency trade-off. Held as a series of three lectures, the course delved into this topic through both classical public-finance and innovative market-design approaches, offering participants a deep conceptual understanding of these frameworks.
The mini course, adapted from a full-length topics course for 2nd- and 3rd-year Economics PhD students at Northwestern University, prioritized in-depth exploration over breadth. It consisted of three carefully structured lectures led by Piotr: Optimal Income Taxation, Inequality-Aware Market Design, Integrating Taxation and Market Design.
