Alexis presented the project "Redistribution through market segmentation." This joint work with Victor Augias and Daniel Barreto studies how to segment a monopolistic market under a redistributive objective. It shows that redistributive segmentations (i) exhibit a monotone structure and (ii) might give extra profit to the seller compared to consumer-surplus-maximizing one, if the redistributive concerns are sufficiently strong. The audience very nicely welcomed the project: great feedback from Dirk Bergemann and Roberto Corrao.
