Learning and teaching from (policy) mistakes
Every year, Kastryčnicki Ekanamičny Forum attracts over 1000 participants in Minsk: policy makers, stake holders, media and academics. This year, we were invited to present the experience from Poland in reforming the pension systems. Belraus, despite recent increase in the retirement eligibility age, runs a pension system deficit. Even though minister of social assistance consols himself that the pension system deficit in Belarus is lower than the analog in Russia -- there appears to be strong demand for viable policy options. For this, one foremost needs analyses (which we, at GRAPE, gladly provide). Thanks to the wonderful CASE-Belarus (one of the KEF organizers) and the hospitable crowd of participants. Oh, and Kastryčnicki means simply October, in case you wondered :).
